...it sucks
I had my much dreaded trip to the endodontist yesterday. I can hear you asking, "What's an endodontist?" He is a dentist that has gone to school longer than regular dentists and specializes in only the worst kind of pain. The Root Canal. It took forever to get me numbed up. Eventually he had to give me a big shot right in the gaping hole in my tooth. This is when I screamed and wet myself a little. After two hours of drilling, grinding, and gagging it was over. I stumbled out several hundred dollars poorer, but glad it was over. I gotta go back for some more work in two weeks. As an aside the dentist mentioned that some people lack the microbiology that causes tooth decay. You have got to be kidding me. I want to find one of these lucky idiots and punch them.
Disclaimer: Many of you may think that I am an Anti-Dentite. I am not. I appreciate the roles they fill in our society, and the holes they fill in my teeth. I just wish I didn't have to go.

I am much agreed with your statement of appreciating their work, yet not wanting to visit the dentist. I would like to help you in your quest to find the un-decay-ables.
Please don't punch me...
I haven't been to the dentist for awhile, but growing up I NEVER had a cavity and as far as I can tell I still don't have one. I don't understand the pain of crowns/fillings whatever...I DO understand the need for whitening and braces. And perhaps one day when my permanent teeth decide to develop and grow in I may get braces again. For now, its a waste of time and space.
