And the results are in---

I PASSED!!! I got a 98! I don't exactly what that is on a scale of, but 98 sure does sound like a great score to me! It means, for those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, that I don't have gestational diabetes. YEA!!!!!! Now, perhaps my dear friend Holly could elaborate, being a nurse and sister of someone with diabetes, and explain what 98 means. Is this a blood sugar level or is it a percentile rating? Whatever it is, I sure do like it!

A new baby thing I think is happening--I think someone has the hiccups. I've noticed a regular rhythm that happened yesterday and today around the same time. Not for very long, just rhythmic. Either she has the hiccups or she wants to be a drummer. I think I could handle that if she turns out to be as good as our friend, Bryan, and later on, Archie. I'm telling you, Bryan is 10 and you people would be impressed! So, baby girl can follow after him if she'll practice like he does. Shoot, we might even move so she can take lessons from him. Heck, she could even marry him for that matter....OKAY! I admit I'm pushing it there, but she would have wonderful in-laws. Maybe we'll meet a younger version somewhere...

Enough dreaming. I passed the test! YEAAAAAAAA!

Geez, she isn't even born yet and you're already arranging a marriage for her? Wow! Now THAT'S organization! LOL

Love ya!

I am honored that you would consider our son for your future son-in-law, but I asssure you that he has promised his mom that he is never leaving home (except to go to Italy for culinary school, that is!) ha ha!! Plus, he is already saying that he is going to be her "big brother" since he doesn't have any siblings. That would be gross.

Now, as for your results... 98 is your blood glucose level and it is GREAT! normal is anywhere from 80-110 or so, which means that you are right in the middle. Good for you, you healthy mom!!

We could work out something on the drum lessons though... maybe she will have a piano skill like her mom, and she and Bryan could trade lessons! What do ya think??

Hi, Lydia. I'm really relieved that your test came out okay. I had been somewhat worried, since lots of your near and dear are (or were) diabetics. I had a weird piece of dream that I keep remembering--seems like I saw some sort of paper the doctor had given you, and he told you to not gain more than one more pound. Interesting, huh? Anyway, I love you.

Not to worry, my weight it okay for now, Mom. I don't WANT to gain more, but the doctor hasn't told me not to and if the baby needs to gain a pound a week the last month, then she better. I on the other hand, am trying to watch it. Mainly because I don't know what I'm going to do to get it all off! I guess we're really really gonna need that stroller!! hint hint.

I was 142. I'm so glad you don't have gestational diabetes! That was rough to deal with. And Tooz, gestational diabetes is different from Type 2 in terms of cause--it's all about the placenta. So heredity isn't a factor. The things one can learn from a diabetic educator!

Hiccups are so cool! Very common. CJ had them almost every day during the last trimester. Pretty soon, you should be able to see your tummy bounce--and don't say anything about being too fat to see it, because you will! I was reading a magazine propped on my tummy one night and CJ just moved it up and down, kicking.

I miss the kicking sometimes. I ate a lot of beans a couple weekends ago, and got gas, and the tummy rumblings made me nostalgic.

BEcky, you make me laugh! Are you sure you don't want to have another baby? I guess if all you're interested in are the kicks, then giving yourself gas is the way to go. Its a quick satisfaction and a lot less expensive.

Yeah, and I don't have to wait nine months for the satisfaction of a really good fart!
